Get Started with Weekly Actions

Your highest-priority AEO moves, picked for you every week and waiting when you log in.

Written by Stevi

Figuring out what to actually do about your AEO performance can be the hardest part of the job. You have visibility data, citation trends, competitor movement, and somewhere in all of it is the shortlist worth doing this week.

Weekly Actions does that sorting for you. Every week, Cognizo reads your data and pulls out the handful of moves most likely to move your visibility, then puts them front and center when you log in.

This article explains:

  • Where to find your weekly actions

  • The five kinds of actions you'll see and what each one does

  • Which actions change something and which are there to keep you informed

  • How to dismiss, snooze, restore, and look back at what you've done

  • What to do when you've finished your list and want more

Where to find them

Your plan refreshes Monday morning with a fresh read of your data, so Monday is the natural time to make your pass.

Looking for your old landing page? It's still there, now under Analytics in the main left navigation. All the same visibility, prompt, and citation data, in the same views you already know.

1. Content Generation

This is where most of your actual work happens.

Cognizo reads your prompt and citation data to find the gaps between what AI answers are citing and what you own, then turns those gaps into article recommendations you can act on with a single click. You'll also get nudged when something is sitting in your pipeline waiting on you to publish.

Depending on where a piece of content stands, you'll see one of these:

  • A new article to create. Cognizo found a gap worth writing about. One click builds the brief and the draft.

  • A brief ready for its article. The outline exists and is waiting on you to generate the full draft.

  • A draft ready to review and publish. The article is written. This is the step that gets content live.

  • An article worth refreshing. A piece you already have is due for an update based on newer recommendations.

💡 Tip: If you only have time for one thing, make it the drafts waiting to be reviewed. Finished articles sitting unpublished are the most common place AEO momentum stalls out.

2. Signals

Trends worth watching, before they turn into problems.

  • A competitor is gaining visibility. Someone you track is picking up ground.

  • A competitor just passed you. A tracked rival moved ahead of you on visibility.

  • A page you're watching is moving. It's being cited more, cited for the first time, or losing citations.

Signals are here so nothing catches you off guard. You don't have to do anything with them. If a trend holds, Cognizo turns it into a real recommendation in a future week, so you're seeing the early version of something that may land on your to-do list later.

3. Wins

Proof your work is paying off.

  • You moved up on a tracked prompt. Your brand gained ground in AI answers.

  • A published article earned its first citation. Content you shipped is now being pulled into answers.

These are worth more than they look. Wins are the screenshots you send your boss or your client, and they're the clearest evidence that the content you published is doing its job. Enjoy the win!

4. Planning

Small decisions that keep your tracking sharp.

  • A competitor you aren't tracking keeps showing up. When an untracked brand appears often in your answers, Cognizo surfaces it so you can add them to your tracked competitors or clear them if they aren't a real rival.

Getting your competitor set right is one of the higher-value things you can do in a few seconds. It shapes your share of voice, your citation comparisons, and the content recommendations Cognizo writes for you.

5. Brand Setup & Reminders

If part of your brand setup is still open, we'll nudge you here.

  • Add your competitors. If you have none tracked yet, this is the first thing to fix.

  • Connect Google Search Console. Connecting it gives Cognizo SEO data that sharpens the article recommendations it writes for you.

Dismiss, snooze, and look back

You don't have to finish everything to have a good week. What matters is telling Cognizo what each leftover item is.

Snooze anything worth doing that you don't have time for right now. Snooze holds it for one week, and it reappears in next Monday's plan. There's no duration to set.

Dismiss anything that isn't a fit for your brand or your strategy. It moves to your dismissed list and comes off your plan. Nothing is lost, so you can dismiss freely.

Dismissing also tells Cognizo something. Similar actions get lower priority in future weeks, so the more you sort, the more your list looks like the work you actually do. It's a nudge rather than a mute button. If something similar turns out to be a big opportunity for your brand, we'd still rather show it to you than hide it.

Do nothing and it may come back on its own. If the opportunity behind it is still live in your data, Cognizo can surface it again in a future week.

💡 Tip: Snooze when your answer is "yes, but I'm slammed." Dismiss when the answer is no, or not this quarter. Two seconds of sorting on Monday is what keeps the list from turning into a pile you scroll past, and it makes next Monday's list sharper.

You can also look back at what you've done. Your completed actions show everything you've worked through, and your dismissed actions show what you cleared.

Changed your mind about something you dismissed? Open your dismissed list and restore it. It's back on your plan right away, no waiting for Monday.

💡 Tip: The completed view is a quick way to build a client or leadership update, since a month of completed actions beats reconstructing it from memory. And when your content pipeline frees up, your dismissed list is worth a scroll. Things you passed on in a busy month are often worth a second look in a slow one.

When you want to do more

Weekly Actions is the short list, not the whole list. It surfaces what matters most right now, which means plenty of good ideas stay under the surface.
